MERRY CHRISTMAS AND BEST WISHES FOR A NEW YEAR!
FRIDAY, DEC. 29 TACHI PALACE CASINO / LEMOORE
One of the big weekends of the year. Paul C. on Drums and Malachi on bass and we are on our way to a very cool casino in Central California. I am excited about the newspaper story in Hanford supporting the shows and the good weather for traveling. Everyone at the casino is easy going and welcomes us to this part of California. The sound check and dinner leave us just 90 minutes to check in, change for the show and get on stage. We are moving fast today.I see some folks by the merch. stand and walk over and find out it is some friends I met in Morro Bay and they live in the area and are here to see the show. What a super surprise when friends drop by the gigs to say Hello. Later in the evening we are all having a good time and visiting between sets. The crowd here is up for dancing and the band is into playing music, I want to Thank my friends for being here and buying my new CDs.
SATURDAY, DEC. 30 TACHI PALACE CASINO / LEMOORE
Hanford is an historic California town. There are a lot of ranches here in the central valley, a large naval air station and homes are a bargin in the 200 thousand range for purchase. After breakfast at the casino I get a chance to see the center which features a turn of the century ice cream store, merry go round an original jail house now a bar and eatery. Later in the day before the show one of the casino managers Larry R. explains the history of this cool Cali town and how the railroad changed and helped build this town. The show goes smooth and I really like this wide open part of the state.
SUNDAY, DEC. 31 FOUR OLIVES CAFE / LONG BEACH
With a thick fog early in the morning we drive over to the casino, the Sequoia hotel was an excellent choice in Hanford. Breakfast is super at the casino, Thanks Larry! We load the gear and drive to Los Angeles under three hours away. Malachi is going to the musicians union to get ready for his gig tonight. I have a couple of hours to get ready for my show in Long Beach tonight. With my suit and tie on, I'm out the door and meet Kirk N. and Steve D. who is playing drums tonight. We are a trio without a bass because Kirk is playing bass on his keyboard. There is two settings for dinner tonight 7pm - 9pm and 10pm - 12am. We are prepared for Auld Lang Syne at 9pm for New York and the west coast at midnight. Both crowds have a lot of fun, Kirk and Steve are rippin into the tunes and everybody is joining in on singing and dancing! Doug (Four Olives owner) and his crew are the best, making sure it is a perfect evening of great food and drink. Really one of my favorite New Year's Eve parties ever. Thanks everybody for Rockin' in the New Year!

SHOWS THIS WEEK:
FRIDAY, DEC. 22 / CAHUILLA CASINO / ANZA
Tonight Malachi on bass and I drive over to pick up Kofi at his place in Orange. Kofi and Oscar are playing shows in Colorado over the holidays so Malachi is scheduled to play bass for the rest of 2006. I've known Malachi for a few years and we've played a lot of shows together. I'm lucky he is avaliable for these dates because he is an excellent musician. As we get ready to leave for the casino, I remind Kofi he needs a pressed shirt and slacks. With everything on board we say goodbye to Little kofi's cat and drive far into the mountains above Temecula. The reservation is beautiful with natural California land. The show goes smooth and a few friends I know here stop by to say hello and enjoy the music. It snowed the night before so we are glad it is clear for driving tonight.
SATURDAY, DEC 23 / MAHE / SEAL BEACH
Tonight is the christmas party for this Seal Beach hot spot. Southern Cal. and the beautiful girls that are wild and light up the night. With a red hot line up of musicians on the stage, Malachi on bass, Paul C. on drums and the one and only Kirk Nelson on keys we lay down some cool blues and a vibe that is as hip as this crowd. Excellent musicians doing what they do best. Thank you to Mahe for a great dinner and a super start to thr Holidays.

SHOWS THIS WEEK ARE IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
FRI. DEC. 15 BABE'S PLACE / LIVERMORE
With the sun shinning we drive over the grapevine and up the 5 freeway. I like to stop at harris ranch for a break from driving and some fuel. After a few hours we pull into Livermore for the start of a Rockin' fun weekend. We go directly to Babe's and meet Babe herself. She is a very nice person and greets us with a welcome. Babe has collected some of the newspapers carring the interview I did with the Oakland Tribune a week or two earlier. Later we are back to start Rockin' the Blues with the locals and meet with people between sets. It's a good night and my nephew stops by to say hello. We visit and make plans to meet the next day. Wendy is the bar tender here and soon everybody is dancing and joining in on the fun. As we pack the van to leave Kofi calls the gear load on the Van. He has an amazing talent to fit the equipment in a very balanced fit. Amazing!

Over highway 84 and in to San Jose to join Lynn and Scott and all their friends for some outstanding BBQ food at Scott's home. WoW! What a great time meeting everyone and talking duck hunting and choppers! The whole party moves to Jonnies club JJ's Blues just down the road. We are so fired up from all the fun we play 2 and 1/2 hours non stop tune after tune rippin into my songs and a bunch of blues. Jo Jo and Luna and David on sound make tonight one of the best. Thank you very much to Scott and Lynn for welcoming us into their home, I had a wonderful time!

Kofi, Oscar and I start rippin into tiunes after Kylan mixes sound and dinner at the club. The crowd here is Rockin', Locals only. I have made a lot of friends here in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Steve and Rod sound great and what a blast to be together playing music. Thanks to Cesar and Tracy and the crew at this fun tavern.
MON. DEC. 18 CACHE CREEK / BROOKS
From Santa Cruz to Sacramento and we check in at the Best Western in Woodland. Tonight will be a good one on this big stage and our fourth night in a row playing the tunes. Sometimes on the last night of traveling we kind of play harder knowing we come home the next day. HAPPY THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY TO EVERYONE!!!
FRIDAY, NOV. 24 RUDY'S BLUES BAR / MERCED
Jay H. is on Drums for this weekend, a cool blues drummer we met at Cosy's Blues bar. Into the Valley and up to Merced on Highway 99. Merced is an old town at the foot of the Sierra Mountains with a lot California history. Tonight we have a super gig at Rudy's place. Rudy is a pro drummer and books some terrific bands at his club. With Thanksgiving still in the air, the crowd and I get a chance to meet and have an evening of music and visiting. I like these shows where everyone in the room is involved and I feel like I'm playing music at someones house. Folks answer questions about the town, dance and we kind of get to know one another. Perfect for a holiday weekend. Really look forward to playing here again in 2007.
SATURDAY, NOV. 25 LOADING DOCK / ORCUTT
Pulling out of Merced and on our way to Santa Maria, driving accross the big Central California valley. Wide open, flat land some areas with water other land just open space with brush, no trees. You get the feeling that the soil is good for growing you just need water. Tonight Kirk N. joins us for his first road gig as he is in town staying for a weekend of rest with his wife. Kerry the owner greets us and we set up in an old loading dock warehouse reinvented as a cool space for food and wine. The sound is great and everyone here tonight is here to see the band. I get ready to start playing tunes and see two great friends from the area that have been at a number of my shows including Ralph and Duane's, Sapphire Lounge and the Strawberry festival. Wow! The show always goes great when my friends are at the show. Special thanks to the VIP girls. We load the gear and drive late into the night to arrive back in Los Angeles.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17 / JJ's BLUES BAR / SAN JOSE
I wake up at 6:30am to a call from Kofi he is downtown LA and needs directions to my house. Man, I sent those to your email address last night. He says I don't check my web site email. OK call me at 8am and we will meet at 9am. Pulling into San Jose on a nice weather day we get ready for JJs Blues. This is the heart of Blues in the sourth Bay, Jonnie, David and Jo Jo, the crew are tight with the bands and it a super gig. Jonnie is a terriffic blues guy and is a piller to the foundation of blues in the whole state of California. He reminds me of Bill Graham and with his cool vibe we rip into a set of Blues. I have built up some friends here in San Jose and as I visit with Roxanne and Claude I settle in for a fun night.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18 / TORCH CLUB / SACRAMENTO
Kofi doesn't like to get up early but today he is with Oscar and I at Hobie's in the Pruneyard Mall in San Jose for breakfast. I get up early when I'm traveling. With a easy drive to Sacramento, we check in and head over to the Torch to get the gear in and rest for the show. I love this part of Sac. old town, vintage buildings and a fun resturant Hamburger Marys. We rip into some blues with the ambassder Willie Brown in the audience. I apreciate his support and proud to be a member of the Sacramento blues Society.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19 / HENFLING'S TAVERN / BEN LOMOND
Wow! The Torch club is always a buzz to work. The crowd is electric and dances til we stop at 1am. Get some food at the hotel and stop at a downtown market so Kofi can resupply his cooler with fresh fruit and things he likes to eat on the tour. Today my friend Rod W. meets us at Santa Cruz diner for dinner and we can visit before the gig. I've know rod for thirty plus years so it is a great vibe to see him. The crowd at the Tavern in green and wooded Ben Lomond is very local on Sunday's and we connect for a great evening of fun. What a cool place and I really like seeing everybody here on Sunday's! Thanks you guys for droping by and saying hello. Scott and Lynn are here tonight and there is a plan to make a Rockin' the Blues BBQ in Dec.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20 / CACHE CREEK CASINO / BROOKS
Today starts with breakfast at the Santa Cruz diner, we know some of the staff here and it is a great local hang out and has a feel like Santa Cruz of the past. The drive to Woodland where we are staying is mellow, Kofi likes to sleep and Oscar and I talk about a wide range of subjects. After check in, I talk to my long time buddy fron school Steve and we plan to meet at Henflings in Dec. to play music and visit. The food at the casino is outstanding, one of the biggest buffets in Ca. The monday night football game finishes and Kofi, Oscar and I rip into a set of tunes. Within minutes it takes off with long jams reminestent of Cream.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10 SAPPHIRE LOUNGE / ALHAMBRA
The Holidays are not far off on the calendar and everyone is making plans. A smooth night with my friends Pat and Carlos in the club. They are a blind couple and take a cab to the show and get a table and enjoy an evening out. I like to visit on the breaks, Carlos is taking classes and we talk about whats up in Alhambra. I begin to think about my web site and how blind people can interact with the internet, web sites and email. More on this later.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11 SAPPHIRE LOUNGE / ALHAMBRA
Mr. Kirk Nelson could not be here tonight, however Thax and Oscar power up a hurricane of groove. I thank Charley and crew for a two night stand, we can arrive with the gear set up and jump into Rocking. Thank you VIP girls from Santa Maria, Phoenix and Alhambra!
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12 MOTHERS TAVERN / SUNSET BEACH
After a late night of music we roll at noon. The talk is of football and a great day ay the ocean. Karen is in Australia visiting her family and the wonderful Allison is handling the bar. We work for tips at Mothers so the bar gals try to help us out by taking the tip jar table to table and around the bar. Michael and Dottie are here to say hey, although he is down because a very close friend had been hit by a car and killed right in front of Mothers. They raised money for his family and everybody was still sad. The band launched into a flurry of tunes long into the afternoon, on breaks talking to the many friends I have made here over the three years of sunday gigs i've worked. I really like this pub and the people here are a close community. At the end of the day I say goodbye to everyone and prepare to leave for LA and Thaxter announces he is leaving the show to pursue other musical opportunities. We were quiet in the truck on the way home and that was it. I contacted Kofi Baker by phone that night and he said he would stand in for the next few shows.

Casinos are fun and folks are out for a good time tonight.

We meet in the late afternoon and talk about how great it is to be playing a gig in LA tonight. This private event has been planned for awhile, Bill had met me at the Strawberry festival in Arroyo Grande a few years back. The hall is cool, great for a party with food, open bar and a crowd of family and friends. Bill has a lot of friends and like us want to make this Birthday party one to remember. SHOWS IN THE SAN DIEGO AREA:
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20 / CAHUILLA CREEK CASINO, ANZA
A favorite to gig at with friendly folks and a nice stage. There is a view from this hill top casino with the valley below leading to Palm Springs. The drive takes you through some remote back country reminding me that Southern Cal. still has open land. There is a building restriction so people can't buy huge parcels of land for homes. This is part of an Indian reservation and I always enjoy talking to the tribe elders and learning about their view of California and the future. There is a cool crowd here and we jump in to having fun!
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 / CASINO PAUMA, PAUMA VALLEY
October is a great time of the year. Sitting outside the casino at the entrance on a break I call on the cell and look up into the San Diego night. The temperature is just right and the shows are rolling smooth due to the amount of times we play. I always enjoy talking to people in between the shows and it is a pleasure when they hear a song and want to buy the CD with the song on it. We are giging here more now and I get to know some of the staff at the casino. I realize all the time how lucky I am to be a musician and how hard we all work just to get by. It makes me want to try harder at my craft.

WE WILL BE IN THE SACRAMENTO DELTA:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 16 / CACHE CREEK CASINO / BROOKS
Oscar and I arrive at about the same time Thaxter is pulling up from his home town in the delta. We check in and look forward to the food at Cache Creek, so we drive over to the casino early. The sound check goes smooth with Greg dialing in the sound. This stage is large and professional with a feel like the House of Blues in Los Angeles. With Super G. in the audience along with other friends it turns into an excellent show. We got caught up with the Bears come back win over the Cardnials and the Monday Night Football game inspires us to Rip in to the tunes.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17 / TAILGATORS BAR & GRILL / BRENTWOOD
After breakfast at the nearby Denny's with two friends of Thax from school we drive along the Sacramento river to Brentwood. Set up at the club and I call my Aunt and Uncle who live in town. My Aunt is facing terminal cancer and I am glad I can see her today. The weather is perfect as I arrive she is in the living room with a cross breeze flowing through the room. Her courage and up spirits are inspiring and we have a loving visit with some laughs as I tell stories of the small problems my brother, myself and sisters deal with currently. After a loving kiss an hug we say goodbye and I walk to the truck with my Uncle. Later in the day, a friend and his wife have arrived in Brentwood to visit with with me and see the show. Not knowing quite where to have dinner, we drive to old town Brentwood and discover a resturant in a very old early California building. Capp's is just the place for good food and some good visiting and catching uo with two close friends I've known for a long time. We arrive at the club and lots of music fills out the day.
Thank You ROOTS TIME webzine in Belgium for your positve review of the new CD! Check out the link to this cool site in Europe.

We decide to take photos and enlist the help of the staff and by standers. Around 8:45 we take a dinner break and relax at the buffet. This is a cool gig, everyone is having a goodtime and feeling lucky.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1 / HINANOS / VENICE BEACH
After a late night coming in from San Diego, we meet and drive to Venice.
A little off and on rain but nothing to much. Set up and into the tunes. I like this club and the people here in Venice, always a cool vibe. Today is gonna be terrific. The weather here in the "Bay" is classic fall in the 70's with a breeze. We crusie up to the City and I put a quick call into Big Rick on the cell. He and little Rick are over at Mike B's and headed over to meet us at Lou's pier 47 on the Fishermans Wharf.
Today we play an early show at 4pm - 8pm, still the crowd is into it and more people keep coming in. This club is one of the best in S.F. it is just a wild time everytime. Out the door early and on our way accross the San Berdo Mts. to Apple Valley. As we pull into the park located outside of town in a canyon that looks like a film set from the old west the weather is perfect. A big pro stage and PA under trees greets us as we unload the gear. As I meet the locals and we talk it is clear that this 50 year tradition is about Roy Rogers and Dale Evens. Two famous Californians and their love for this part of California. The two shows go smooth with a feel of a small town get together. There are lots of things to see and do at the park for families. I get a surprise visit from sister Carolyn who is celebrating her birthday!

Second show for today. After dinner we drive to Sunset Beach and say hello to Jake and Rose. The evening starts out mellow and soon turns to a full blown party! The band is red hot and after midnight the tunes are smoking with an all out sing along on Hank Jr's song and Jimmie Reeds "Doin what you want me to". There was some Vampire guitar work on my song "Teaser"!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 / KING NEPTUNE / SUNSET BEACH
With Juan at the helm of this fun beach bar it was smooth sailing. I have played a lot of shows here in Sunset Beach and know many of the locals. I enjoy working here for that reason. Tomorrow is the Chili cook off and the excitment level is up as it is the biggest weekend for Sunset Beach.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 / MAHE / SEAL BEACH
As soon as Thax and Oscar get into the truck and we are on our way down the 405 the talk turns to dinner at this excellent resturant. We pull up and start setting up getting an order in. Toby the owner is super cool and greets us with get some food and then lets rock. As the crowd gets into it after about ten pm a bus load of partyers walks in and the place goes wild.
The bus drives from club to club and these people are going for it. You can't move in the room and people are singing and dancing. I think we will play later than planned.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 / PARADISE STORE / SANTA BARBARA
Today was excellent from the music to the weather to the food and best of all the audience. We arrived and set up for an afternoon over looking the Pacfic ocean surrounded by the green woods of Santa Barbara. Towards the end of the day everyone joins in and we have some fun. With famlies and their children and I have to mention the dancing boxer dog. Special hello to the cool folks from Pismo Beach!

THURSDAY, AUGUST 31 / FOUR OLIVES CAFE // LONG BEACH
Tonight was a surprise because there were a lot of people here to see the show for a weeknight. Rich Smith on drums playing with brushes and Oscar on bass. This is a fine dining resturant with great service and a nice wine selection. Playing early the band moves through a selection of blues with lots of guitar work. The audience is into the music and the evening is a success. Thanks for buying the CD's.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 / SAPPHIRE LOUNGE // ALHAMBRA
Labor day weekend and a change is in the air. I meet up with Charles and Oscar at the club early so we can set up and ease into the show. The club opens and fills up early with a great crowd the place is jammin all night. Good to be in LA this weekend, we work here every month so I know the crew that works the bar / door and we can settle in and rip into the tunes. Standing outside the club on Main street during the breaks, Alhambra is rocking tonight.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 / SAPPHIRE LOUNGE // ALHAMBRA
With friends from Arroyo Grande at the VIP table I knew tonight was gonna be fun. Kirk was setting up his keyboards when I walked in and Oscar and Charlie were checking their gear for the show. I had my acoustic guitar with me so we started with 45 minutes of kinda mellow unplugged songs, getting into a vibe. After the first break it was all Rockin' Blues and everyone was rippin' into all my songs from the CD's.
Around midnight Charlie sets up his guitar gear and sits in with the band. Wow, who knew he played and he learned Crusin the Coast and Sundown and the Cowboy from my solo CD. The club is full and the party is on.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 / HINANO'S // VENICE
With a cool breeze blowin' we double park in front of the club. Traffic is thick so Charles, Oscar and I quickly load in and I park in the lot on the beach. Everyone is feeling good with tomorrow a holiday and most people have the day off. The city will slow down and there we be an easy and slow vibe to the day. The sound is always good here at Hinano's and we play low volume and focus on chops and licks. The afternoon turns to early evening and we munch on the outstanding cheeseburgers served. The crowd is cool here, Venice is a collection of great people and the boardwalk and much of Venice is a part of Southern Cal. history. There have been many classic sunday afternoons here for years.
LOOKING FORWARD TO A ROCKIN' THE BLUES LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!!

WED. AUGUST 9 / PARADISE STORE / SANTA BARBARA
Harley - Davidson bike Rally 6pm - 8pm
With Harley's filling up the parking in front of this historic location we set up for an all you can eat ribs and steak event. The sunset from here is amazing as you look out to the Pacfic ocean. These are the Santa Barbara mountains one of California's terrific locations. The twin V motorcycle tone of my guitar leaves the amp and trails into the woods as a soundtrack to this incredible afternoon.
FRI. AUGUST 11 / LOADING DOCK / ORCUTT
Thax, Oscar and I are running late as we try to get to Santa Maria on time. Traffic in Santa Barbara is slow. Oscar is talking about reading sheet music and I get a lesson in major and minor scales during the weekend. Always good to talk music. We check into a haunted motel from the 60's and start trying to find Orcutt. What a great surprise tonight turns out to be. The club is an old barn in the center of this very cool historic western coastal town. There is a barbeque going with wine tasting and everyone feels like having a good time. After the first set the room fills up and the audience takes over and we sing and dance for the next few hours. The band has a geat night and I look forward to playing here again. A big hello to my friends who came in from Arroyo Grande. Around midnight we join the locals at an Applebees for a late night snack and get ready for the haunted motel. Thank you Loading Dock for a great visit to Orcutt!
SAT. AUGUST 12 / FOGBANK / CAPITOLA
This club is on the ocean here in Capitola. A row of fun bars, resturants and shops in a village setting. From the bar and deck you can see the ocean with sea birds and people on the sand. The show the night before at the Loading Dock was terrific with the crowd way into having fun. We set up and take some pictures while talking to locals and the crew at the bar. Rod W. is here tonight from Monterey and as the roof getts lifted around midnight he sits in on drums. What a party this room is, tonight everything is a classic fun summer night! A big hug to Michele R. for being so cool and of course our bud behind the bar Casey!
SUN. AUGUST 13 / PARADISE STORE / SANTA BARBARA
After breakfast at "the Bear" we are on our way, early today with a four hour run to Santa Barbara. Traffic is smooth as we climb up to the top of highway 154 to the Paradise Store. What a cool little store and outdoor stage this place is. We are hot from playing all weekend and we rip into the tunes, "Crusin the Coast", "Here Before" and " All Kinds of a Fool" with a mess of Blues too! Tri - tip is on the grill so lunch is excellent. A bunch of bike riders from Lompoc are here and everyone is having a good time. Later I put some Areosmith on the CD player in the truck and we cruise back to Los Angeles. Great weekend in Central Cali.

WED. AUGUST 2 / COOKS CORNER / LAKE FOREST
Great to be giging on a Wednesday! Bike night at Cook's Rocks hard. Tonight there are over a hundred riders and bikes here to raise money for children's charity. We have dinner and start ripping into tunes. Pat the bar tender has been here for a long time even before the new owners took over and fixed the place up. Cooks is a landmark roadhouse here in the canyon, with new houses being built in the area but folks like this place and leave it as it always has been. Years ago I played here with Stone and it has always been a cool gig. Sawdust on the floor because they have booked plenty of country bands too!
FRI. & SAT. AUGUST 4 & 5 / CAHUILLA CASINO / ANZA
Our first visit here is a success! Looking forward to more shows here.
Thax, Oscar and I leave the 15 south and begin the drive east, climbing to 4000 feet in elevation. This is indian reservation and has a natural beauty untouched by development. Everyone is friendly as we load in and set up on a nice stage in the showroom. We meet more people during dinner and it is clear that everyone is very proud of this well kept secret of California and concerned about the water and want development that is controlled and planned. As I travel throughout California water is always a topic of concern. Both nights here are fun with the crowd dancing and enjoying both my songs and some well known favorites. Driving home we come up on a terrible accident on the 91 freeway. Both cars and a pick up truck are smashed, maybe they were going a 100 mph because the one car can't be more than a foot wide, it is crushed. The Highway Patrol are there to handle this situation. These people are tough. We are lucky to have them here in Califormia.

FRIDAY, JULY 28 / GARLIC FESTIVAL / GILROY
SHOW 11:45 - 1:15pm MAIN STAGE
With a double gig day planned for Friday we leave LA on Thursday morning for Monterey. Traffic is smooth on the 101 as I ponder how much open space is available in places like King City and Greenfield. Nice towns with a big future. We meet up with Monterey drummer Rod W. and have lunch at the best Salad bar in the area! Then it was out the door to tour all the clubs in the area looking for work.
Arrivivg early to the main stage Friday morning ready to Rock some Power Blues we are greeted by a pro sound system and the terrific promoters of the Gilroy Garlic Festival. A few photos later the gear is set up and the band roars into 90 minutes of music with the audience into having fun. This is a California experience, people from around the state visiting all the booths and events. Really proud and excited to be a part of this years festival! Hey Mike B., hope you and your son had a great afternoon at the festival.
FRIDAY, JULY 28 / HENFLING'S / BEN LOMOND
9pm - 1am
Returning to Watsonville for dinner we prepared for our next show in Ben Lomond tonight at 9pm. This part of California is the Santa Cruz mountains and it deep green with a lush forest and cool small towns. Henfling's has a nice stage and PA and folks come from all over the area to dance and have fun. Coming off todays show, Thax, Oscar and myself are ready to rip it up. Everything goes great although we lost the house mixing board to a loose glass of wine and had to pull ours off the truck. Rod W. joins in on drums for a couple of songs and we all had a super evening of Rockin' Blues. I like this place a lot.
SUNDAY, JULY 30 / MOTHERS TAVERN / SUNSET BEACH
With the weather cool and breezy we roll in to see Karen and friends. No place like Mothers and everyone loves this bar. Sunday's are mellow and open air. It was terrific to see everyone and by the end of the day we were not only doing some sing alongs and dancing but the dogs were in the bar on the floor. Always good to see Michael's dog Dottie.

SATURDAY, JULY 23 - SAPPHIRE LOUNGE, ALHAMBRA
Today is the hottest day of the year in Los Angeles and it is tropical. I get a great parking spot near the club as Oscar walks up to the truck. He says he heard reports of 116 - 121 in the deep parts of the valley. Entering the club we sit at the bar and talk baseball with Charlie as he readies the bar. New York Yankees seem to be a favorite here although the other bar tender and myself are down for the Dodgers. Kirk N. is here tonight to play Keys and he rips! Even in the heat the club fills up and everyone has fun, as if to say "you have to live your life and get on with it, no matter what."
SUNDAY, JULY 24 - HINANO'S, VENICE
The beach is fun today. Lots of people from all over Southern Cali and visiting from around the world. We set up and it is hot when we first get in the club. Racer Rick drops by and stays to take photos and help with the equipment later. The crowd is having fun and Rich and Oscar are laying down some cool grooves. The cheeseburgers are excellent here so we take a break and have lunch. The song today is Rick Nelson's "Lonesome Town" and I'm having a good time playing it!

SATURDAY, JULY 15 / HOLLY STREET BAR & GRILL / PASADENA
Getting some afternoon calls from friends planning to drop by the club tonight. This is a great room to work with an excellent sound system and stage. I drive over early because the band is meeting to have dinner together at 7pm. The very talented Kirk Nelson on keys is on board tonight along with Rich Smith and Oscar Huquet. Lots of friends here for two smooth shows. The group is dressed to impress and in the audience is Diana Deville DJ with KNAC radio, Gary S. and his family and friends from New York. Aaron and his fiance are here tonight talking to the band about playing their October wedding! Oscar's Mom is here tonight along with his brother, good to see Mrs. H. The show was a Huge night of fun because a lot of friends came by the casino to say hello and visit between shows. One of the best nights ever. FRIDAY, APRIL 14 - FOGBANK, CAPITOLA
Sitting on the deck of the Fogbank at sunset is an amazing location. The birds flying above , landing on the beach, as waves drift to the horizon where the sky and the sea meet as one. I step in the bar feeling ready to have some fun playing music with lots of folks in the same mood. This is a local crowd and everyone knows someone. The Santa cruz paper ran a supportive story so the place is jumping. Michele is back in town tonight from Vegas an by midnight she is calling out drink specials. The house PA is great and we jump in with song after song, folks are dancing and partying! Oscar is red hot on the bass tonight as the place takes off like a Harley. SUNDAY, APRIL 16th - LOU'S PIER 47, SAN FRANCISCO
One of the best! As we drove into S.F. on a spring day I could feel the excitement of our first show in the city. Thaxter had put the word out to his East Bay family and friends that the show was Rockin' the Blues, after all he is a local bay area guy. Happy Birthday Glenn! We set up and settled in to get ready to rip into the tunes. The moon was almost full on a clear night and as the place filled up the band sounded better and better. The crowd joined in and started dancing and singing along. I looked out the window at Fisherman's Warf and thought, this city is pure magic!

Big night as always at this top rated venue! This a major showcase room and on this night Joe Robb was sitting in on sax to fill out the band to a four piece. With the players in suits we moved through the tunes with an extra effort on smooth arrangements and chops. I like that the audience gets involved and it was nice to see people come back to see the show from the previous date here.
SUNDAY, APRIL 2 - HINANO'S, VENICE
The rain let up on this day and we had a classic Southern Cali beach day. Sun out with a breeze. The band played all the tunes while people drank beer, played pool and had something to eat. I like how relaxed this gig is, although I get into playing music here. Today we did and old Ricky Nelson song "Lonesome Town" and man did it sound good.

NORTHERN CA.
Friday, March 24th - JJ's BLUES CLUB - San Jose
Pulling off the 5 north on to the 156 the band headed west towards Gilroy. The moutains were green with spring and the California poppy is growing everywhere.
The smell of garlic was in the air in Gilrory as Thaxter , who is drumming for Devin this month, suggested we try garlic ice cream sometime. There was a light rain tonight and everyone at JJ's was up for Rockin' to the Blues. The crew at the club is not only pro but just plain nice to musicians! Thank You Johnnie, Gloria, Jo Jo, David, Luna and guest Keys man Derick! Wow! This night Rick S. and his good friends made the gig like a party at your house. Thanks everyone!
CENTRAL CA.
Saturday, March 2th - BREW HOUSE - Santa Barbara
Driving south on the 101 we stop in SLO to visit Boo Boo records to price my CD's on sale and say hey to Garth. Santa Maria for dinner and on to Santa Barbara and State Street. Terrific to meet new friends and play this cool bistro in S. B. Special Thanks to Barbara for the excellent dessert and good vibes. Steve on Bass and Thaxter Daggs on Drums, playing like smooth pros. Good Stuff!

CORONADO ISLAND / FRIDAY, MARCH 3 / ISLAND SPORTS AND SPIRITS
Traffic was moving smooth as we rolled past the ocean on Hwy 5. Maryanne was on the phone to help sell merch. at the show tonight so we agreed to meet for dinner in Midway / San Diego. The weather was excellent as we crossed the Big bridge onto Coronado island to the club. With some time before the show started I struck up a coversation with a person at the bar who turned out to be a Naval officer training troops for bomb squad duty in Iraq. He had been there himself and had some very amazing and brave stories to tell. I enjoyed our meeting and mentioned to him that everyone I talk to in my travels was very supportive of our men and women in the US military. With Oscar Huqet on bass tonight we ripped into a bunch of tunes and had a lot of fun with a very late night crowd on Coronado.
VENICE BEACH / SUNDAY, MARCH 5 / HINANO'S
One of the most relaxing places on any Sunday afternoon! Pool games, Beer, the beach outside the door, just a great Southern Cali day. Meeting and talking to people is one of the best parts of my job. I want to say hey to blues fan Sean who was right up front digging the blues tunes. Venice beach is its own place, with lots of artists, musicians and everyday cool people in general. Hinano's is the best bar on the boardwalk!!

SAN DIEGO / FRIDAY FEB. 24th / THE WATERFRONT BAR
Located in Little Italy, this San Diego landmark fills up with people and becomes a party in close. With Jonathan and his crew joining in with the band at the front table everything was off to the races with fun. Lots of people like the oldest bar in San Diego and it is because you meet people and Chad keeps the drinks and food coming to everyone fast.
PASADENA / SATURDAY FEB. 25th / HOLLY STREET BAR AND GRILL
We came back from San Diego about 3:30am and rested for one of my favorite gigs in the golden state of Cali, Holly Street Bar. We busted out suits and ties to make this gig a night to remember and it was perfect, from the sound to the way everyone gets involved with the show. The audience is a big part of the show here. What a cool place!
CORONA / SUNDAY FEB. 26th / TOM'S FARM
With an 11:30 am downbeat we were on the road early. Tom's Farm was very crowded with families, bikers and couples enjoying an amazing day of weather and things to do. Oscar H. played bass with the band this weekend and today he was on fire. I want to thank everybody for buying the CD's and visiting with the band. Tom's is a chance to meet and make new friends.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA: FRIDAY, FEB. 17 / TORCH CLUB / SACRAMENTO
On our way early Friday morning out of LA, looking forward to a rockin weekend. Stopped at Harris Ranch on 5 to pick up oranges and fuel. The oranges would prove to be a excellent purchase for health, vocals and late night snacks. The Torch club in old town is one of the best clubs in Cali! The place just goes off with a spirit like no other. From the first song on the dance floor is full and everybody seems to know everyone else. Donnie and Craig at the bar keep things together and Ray Ray and Henry watch the door and club. I have to thank Teresa and Staples 1,2, and 3 for rocking the dance floor. My buddies from Redwood City Mike B., Rick S. and John were in town making the club a house party. Devin on drums and Steve on bass powered the stage and Rocked the crowd like a Harley twin V.
CENTRAL CALIFORNIA: SATURDAY, FEB. 18 / MR. RICKS / AVILA BEACH
We meet everybody for breakfast and with little off and on rain drive south to San Luis. 5 is a great freeway but man there is not much out there sometimes. Heading west to the ocean on Hwy 41we pass the James Dean Memorial and after a turn at Paso Robles we are into SLO. Tonight we are at a really super location, Avila Beach and Mr. Ricks. Stage and sound are excellent and the ocean outside the door. We load in as rain starts, although the rain does not stop everybody from being there and partying in Mardi Gras costumes. Thanks to our friends here in SLO and Hi to artist Jazlen.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: SUNDAY, FEB. 19 / HINANO'S / VENICE
On a fantastic clear and sunny day we drive 101 along the beaches and sea south, with the waves looking like diamond on the water. Suddenly Steve is feeling sick and after a stop in Ventura, a call is put into a buddy to play bass today at Hinano's. Now we are running late as we get Steve to his car and meet Oscar at the club. The weather is perfect and the Venice crowd is out to have a great day at the beach. Oscar knows the show and things are smooth once the gear is set up and we kick off and hour or so set. Eliza, Juan and Amada keep the club bumpin' and the cheeseburgers here are world famous. The band ripps into a bunch of songs with major sing alongs on Hank jrs. "Family Tradtion" and some fun with Buffetts's "Drunk and Screw". Hey this is a bar!

FRIDAY, FEB. 10th / SAPPHIRE LOUNGE / ALHAMBRA
The party is on! Main Street and it Rocks! The energy level in this room is like a house party with lots of booze. Mixed drinks rule the night and the bar tenders know them all. The band just jumps in and starts rippin'. Charlie is East Coast and the club is a quick visit to New York. What a blast to play here. Thanks to everyone who bought the CD's this weekend and to Steve Hammett for stepping in and playing solid bass.
SATURDAY, FEB. 11th / THE BREW HOUSE / SANTA BARBARA
They brew their own beer and serve great food to go along with the music. The coolest place in an amazing city. The owner is a singer and she bought the place to perform with her band, she likes to kid you with that story. I enjoy this room and the crowd supports the musicians with lots of positive feedback. We rip throgh songs that Ive written and recorded giving the show a showcase feel, more like a concert. Want to say hi to Terry from Canada who was visiting Southern Cali!
SUNDAY, FEB. 12th / MOTHER'S TAVERN / SUNSET BEACH
The weather was perfect. Everyone was outside and on the move. Riders were bar hopping from Cooks to Mothers Tavern. Lots of saying hello and catching up with friends. Karen was hosting the bar and everybody was there. Steve Brooke planning his birthday party with Linda Vanier and Dan. Michael, Dotty, Al and Harley his dog, Harley sits at the bar, sometimes Harley wears his riding leathers. Good to see Rob, Bob O'Neil, Kent and Joe. Toph has a lot of buddies who know he is at Mothers on Sundays and stop in to to say hello. The ladies are here too. The biker girls like to ride bikes. Always makes for more fun!

SATURDAY NIGHT / FEB. 4th / RINGER'S in Bonsall, CA.
As we made our way through traffic, changing freeways to find one moving, the Laker game blasted from the truck radio. Around the 91 and 5 the road opened up and we made good time to Oceanside and inland to Bonsall. This part of California is still wide open and after a call to the club we were pulling in, unloading and setting up. Lots of folks out for Superbowl weekend and the band was rippin' into the songs. Maryanne, Jonathan, and Mary from St. Louis grabbed a table as I opened with "Knights Brige Crossing" and "Drift" on Acoustic. Two of my favorite songs from the CD the Robb Brothers produced and recorded at Cherokee Studios. Everybody was having a great time and I really enjoyed meeting the local crowd, This bar is a lot of fun, folks dancing and relaxing with friends. Devin on Drums and Steve on Bass were laying down a powerful groove, Look forward to playing here again.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 27 - NATIVE CAFE / CALABASAS
Thank you very much to Ron L. for bringing the band to old town Calabasas. A fine dining establishment that is new with a great sounding room. Lots of celebs hanging out for drinks and dinner. Nice to be in Los Angeles (Topanga Canyon)
SATURDAY, JANUARY 28 - ISLAND SPORTS & SPIRITS / CORONADO ISLAND
We roll into San Diego and cross the BIG bridge out to the island. What a cool place Coronado is. From the outside of the club you see the bay and the San Diego skyline. After setting up the gear we walk down to the corner deli for excellent sandwiches. Shay runs the bar at night and she has a lot of friends stopping by for her well mixed drinks. Meeting new friends and enjoying how amazing this island is, here we are at the southern most part of California. At 9 o'clock I'm trying out my new acoustic tunes to start the show. Thank You to everyone for the super welcome and fun night. Tip of the hat to the US Navy Seals at the show. Big thanks to Maryanne for the good vibes.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 20 / SAPPHIRE LOUNGE / ALHAMBRA
Let's start the Weekend! Charlie and crew like a Rockin' the Blues East coast drinking bar. Upscale yet everybody has fun. Downtown Alhambra Rocks with clubs and restaurants, the band just jumps in and starts party'n. The bar mixes a lot of wild new drinks.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 21 / HOLLY STREET BAR AND GRILL / PASADENA
A favorite gig for the band as we arrive early and the club provides dinner. This venue is in Old Town with lots of clubs and people bar hopping. The sound is excellent and it is a place were people like to listen close to the musicians and check out rippin' chops. Had a great night playing a lot of blues at this show!
SUNDAY, JANUARY 22 / TOM'S FARM / CORONA
Winds were blowing and the sun was shinning as we played shows to a great crowd. Tom's is about family fun and everyone is enjoying all the things to do. Thunder Press had mentioned I was playing shows here today because there are always a lot of riders hanging out talking bikes in the lot by the stage. Just a cool and mellow Southern California afternoon.

CENTRAL CALIFORNIA:
FRIDAY, JANUARY 13 / FOGBANK / CAPITOLA
Pulled into Santa Cruz and checked in. I had heard about a great little diner called Santa Cruz diner and the tip was right on with good food. We went to the club and set up, getting parking right in front of this cool club right on the water. Locals tonight, although during the summer this Capitola beach boardwalk is probably jumpin' with visitors. Show went well and everyone was partyin' hard with the off and on rain storm outside. Thank you to my buddy Rod W. for showing up to have a beer drinking good time and ended up sitting in on drums. Jake runs the bar and this town is very cool and fun!
SATURDAY, JANUARY 14 / MR. RICK'S / AVILA BEACH
Out the door early for the drive south, about 130 miles to SLO. Football play off game is on so after dinner and check in we are at Mr. Ricks to see Denver win and set up. TV producer Jazlen is there to film video tags for her show and the crowd is up for a Rockin' Saturday. Mr. Rick's is a great club in Avila on the water with waves crashin on the shore outside the club door. Ronnie at the bar and people are dancing to the tunes. The band was smokin' hot and I was really into ripping it up on guitar. I love nights like this.
