June Edition



Welcome everybody! Summertime is here and it's time for festivals! These events are so much fun! The festivals usually run all weekend with a great line up of bands and many vendors selling great food and merchandise.

We will be performing at some of the best festivals for 2008. Here's a list of of some super weekends for music this summer:

- Starting this weekend we are in Central California for a evening at the Visalia Oaks Baseball Park - plenty of eats, brews and Rockin' the Blues music! A great family event with lots of vendors.

- Next weekend on June 28th we are heading to the great state of Nevada's for one of their biggest festivals, the "BBQ, Blues and Brews," with an all star list of bands, promoted by the Eldorado Casino and Hotel in Reno. I am really honored to be included in this year's event.

- On the 4th of  July weekend, come join us in Central California for  Exeter's Independence Day celebration in the park.  An old-fashioned great day in the center of town with friends and family.

- Saturday, July 5th, we travel to Sugar Pine in the scenic Sierra Mountains to enjoy BBQ and goodtimes at Big Daddy's Smokin' BBQ.

- On Sunday afternoon, July 6th, I'm excited to get together with my friends in Redwood City for BBQ and Bikes at the Broadway Lounge downtown.

- Then on to the biggest gathering of bike riders in California, the "Hollister Independence Bike Rally" on July 12th.  We are very excited to be here for the second year in a row. This an amazing gathering of riders, bikes, bands and vendors!

- Bringing an appetite to the Historic Gilroy Garlic festival is a excellent idea. Incredible food and fun! We are on stage on Friday, July 25th. This one of my favorite festivals. We have performed here for the last three years.

All these events are terrific!  Please join us at one or more of these festivals. You will have a lot of fun and enjoy great food with some Rockin' Blues!  Hope to see you there!


“SOUTHERN CALI GIRL”
Ever since the Beach Boys started singing about Southern California beaches and surfing, the world has been in love with the famous Southern California coastline...beautiful weather, surfing and summertime days spent on the beach.

I've lived in Southern Calif. for quite awhile and although I recently moved to Central Calif., I wrote this song on location from experience.  With Hollywood, movies and TV located here, the history of famous Southern Cali Girls goes back from Greta Garbo to Marilyn Monroe to the latest stars.

When writing Southern Cali Girl, I was thinking about how much fun two young ladies sitting next to me one afternoon were having at this time in their life.  It's an ode to summer, rock 'n roll and how cool the Southen Cali Girls are. Traveling throughout the whole state of California, this song really could be tiltled California Girls. 

For my friends around the world, I hope you are having a fantastic summer and get a chance to go to the ocean and enjoy the beach.
