Review of Brad Wilson Solo CD

Brad Wilson: Brad Wilson

There's nothing like the polish that comes with experience. It's too bad we worship youth, especially in music. Brad Wilson is not twenty-two years old and it shows in his face and in his music. I'm usually against the idea of an artist producing their own album - they rarely have the discipline to do so successfully and the results are usually just plain bad, but this album is certainly an exception to this general rule, and I'm quite sure it comes from Mr. Wilson's extensive experience and maturity as an artist.

Brad Wilson's self-titled CD is a solid mix of hard-core blues tunes like Black Coffee at Sunrise, Last Call and All Kinds of a Fool, good old fashioned rock-n-roll like Hand's on the Wheel, Rocket, and The Healer, and the southern rock style of being somewhere in the middle on Slide on Over. Brad Wilson delivers solid hooks, fantastic lead and first-rate vocals. With a tight band behind him and flawless production, this is an album you really don't want to miss. You'd think Brad had the budget of a big label with some hot-shot producer behind him on this. No clunkers on this album - not a one.
